it didn’t stop exactly after the season becasue we also failed with the national team so that played its part as well but after that - in your holiday - you started to analyze and process last season. now is a fresh start.

i know you press are very interested in the topic. - inside of the team it really isn’t an issue right now. i only start thinking about it if he’s on the pitch together with us. i saw him play with bilbao against schalke and he stuck out. so i know about his qualities. [insert big proud grin here]

i don’t think i only waited and waited what happened in my first year but i tried to integrate myself because there are already existing structures at bayern. last season wasn’t all bad but now we need to work on the details. (someone talked with matthias sammer a lot huh?) and i want to do my part in that.

… about him wanting to win the bundesliga the most (there was a headline about how his greed after the national championship is bigger than everything else or something like that)

i didn’t write that headline but of course the most important thing right now for me is to win the national championship. the last two years dortmund was dominating. of course not internationally because there we were in until the very end. but of course it’s our goal to finish first nationally again and it’s also my personal goal to be the number one with bayern münchen in germany. christian (nerlinger) didn’t hide too and was also here! - the coach still is the first one to go in regards of football. but in case you need another one to talk to about football matthias sammer is of course great for that.
